Gigantic hats, enormous bags, eye-catching bijoux and huge shades… This summer's motto seems to be 'the bigger, the better'. Hats have simply grown out of proportion and sometimes won't even allow you to get through the doorway. Bags are roomy (and unfortunately also heavier) and embellished with luxurious details. Thick golden chains form rich necklaces and bracelets to wrap around your neck or wrist several times. Rings embedded with dazzling stones draw everybody's attention to complete the summer outfits with a sparkling touch. Every single accessory seems to be 'blown up' to reach outsized volumes and show that fashion is, after all, …fun! post 35: april 3rd, 2007 Where is the make-up? For this season's international fashion shows make-up artists have opted for either a colourful and vibrant look or a more delicate, almost nude style.
I loved both, but think that the 'nude look' in particular is very much in keeping with the current romantic mood, refined as it is, with soft tones that are, at first sight, hardly visible.
A flawless, pale complexion with a soft glow goes with only a light touch of eye shadow on the lids and just a little sweep of blush on the cheeks. Lashes and eyebrows are still important and taken care off, but they do not stand out as much as in the more colourful make-up looks. post 34: april 1st, 2007 So in love The fashion designers must have been inspired by the theme of 'love' when they were creating their collections for summer 2007.
The international runways showed a never ending stream of romantic dresses, flirty skirts, ultra-feminine tops and cute little shorts, enriched by loads of bows, ribbons and ruffles. A heart-melting look that required, of course, lots of floral fantasies in sweet and fresh tones. Perfectly in keeping with this season's 'so in love' spirit were also the accessories, like headbands and bags adorned with flowers. Armloads of charming bangles complete this charming new summer style. |
